This event, held between 21 and 23 March 2005, was organised and sponsored by the Japan Patent Attorneys Association, co-sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Industrial Property Center of Japan Institute of Innovation and Invention, and supported by ASPA and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore.
Mr. Keith Callinan gave a talk on recent changes to the Singapore Patents Act.
ASPA held its 7th Annual General Meeting today. At the meeting, the Association established a Code of Conduct for Singapore patent agents.
Dr Wolfram Schiweck gave an introductory talk on biotech and nucleic acid inventions.
Seminar on “Recent Developments in IP Laws in Europe and Singapore/Asia” jointly organised by the IP Academy and ASPA. Speakers were Michael Fysh QC and Tan Tee Jim SC.
About 50 people from industry and the legal and patent professions attended the talk.
ASPA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the IP Academy.
The objectives of the memorandum include:
the organisation of joint academic activities, such as seminars, workshops, symposia and lectures/tutorials, in particular on patent drafting and interpretation and patent search and examination procedure; and
the exchange of training manuals, publications and other materials of common interest.
